Typography as defined is, "the art and technique of arranging  type in order to make language visible." Before taking on this assignment, I looked at text one way: letters on a page. I never saw text as an artform. This assignment required me to painstakingly adjust the letters of a word in order to make them presentable. In order to achieve this, I had to pay careful attention to the structure and harmony of each letter. Doing this made me attentive to details I would have normally neglected. As a result of accomplising this assignment with presicion and accuracy, I have an increased appreciation for typography. Now, I notice more than black and white characters; I see art.
